Celebrity Vocal Competition

Registration is FULL for the rest of the summer! 

Join us for the 6th Annual Celebrity at the SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre, a talent search any serious vocalist age 13 and older won’t want to miss!  With live vocal and instrumental backup from our awesome band, Mitch Lee & The Galaxy Band, singers choose from songs in the band’s repertoire and can also make their own song request.  Vocalists will compete before judges looking for Utah’s hottest talent, and the winner will have multiple opportunities to perform throughout the year, including a TV appearance on ABC Channel 4’s Good Things Utah. 

Summer 2011 preliminary competition nights are Wednesdays June 15, 22, July 13, 20 and August 10, 17.  Each competition begins @ 8:00 pm. There is a limit of 15 singers/preliminary night and three winners will be chosen each preliminary night.  Those eighteen will move on to compete in the semi-finals on Wednesday, August 24.  The Top Six will open for pop and R&B superstar BRIAN McKNIGHT at the SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre on Aug. 27, and our 2011 Celebrity will be chosen by a panel of judges that night!  There is a $35 registration fee.  All participants receive a T-shirt and written feedback from the judges.  Remember, you must be 13 or older to compete. 

Registration will begin on Friday, April 1st.  To register, submit one song choice from the band's song list and one of your own song requests.  That's two total song choices, and please list them in your order of preference.  Song requests must be received at least one week prior to the night you sign up to compete. The band will communicate with you on which of your choices is available.  Songs must be appropriate for a family audience. Not a singer? Come cheer on the performers as they rock the mic to some of your favorite tunes.  Admisson is $4 Adults, $3 Child (age 3-11), Students (w/ID) and Seniors (65+). Following Celebrity, stay free and watch an Outdoor Movie @ Dusk on a big screen with big sound.
