Theatre For Young Audiences
Winter 2012 and Fall 2012Introduce children to the magic of live theatre with these short one-hour live theatre productions based on popular children's books. They are performed by a cast of adult actors featuring a Question & Answer session with the cast and director following the show. Great for school field trips and families with children!
SCHOOL MATINEES: Morning matinees for groups of 20 or more (no exceptions) are available Monday through Friday @ 10am - RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED! TREMENDOUSLY TALL TALES is pretty well sold out for the school matinees. We will begin taking reservations for FLAT STANLEY in early-mid September 2012 by calling (801) 225-ARTS ext. 1011. Check back for more details. Reservations will be taken in the order they are received. If you don't get through, please leave a message with your school, the total number of adults & students attending (a good estimate is fine), at least 2-3 days that you could attend, and your name and an easy phone number/email address to reach you.
PUBLIC SHOWS: Showings for families, individuals and smaller groups are Monday and Friday evenings @ 7:30pm.

Tremendously Tall Tales is a collection of four beloved American folk tales: Paul Bunyan the Lumberjack, Mike Fink the River Roarer, John Henry the Railroad Man, and Johnny Appleseed the Planter of Orchards. Telling the tales is a rag tag theater troupe crisscrossing the Midwest at the beginning of the century, called Eddie B. Brown’s All-Star Yokels. Full of pratfalls, sight gags and hat-tricks in the hilarious physical style of vaudeville, these tall tales are just tremendous! Directed by Robinne Booth.

And now, everyone's favorite two-dimensional hero is given a new life in THE MUSICAL ADVENTURES OF FLAT STANLEY. Stanley Lambchop is your ordinary, every day, run-of-the-mill ten-year-old: normal mom and dad, normal little brother, normal life. That's just the problem...for Stanley, life is too normal. He wants to travel the world, do something amazing, something no one's ever seen before. Careful what you wish for, Stanley! One night, the bulletin board on the wall above Stanley's bed comes loose and falls - right on top of Stanley! The next morning, Stanley Lambchop wakes up flat. Not just a little flat...really, REALLY flat! I n a whirlwind musical travelogue, Stanley - the ultimate exchange student - scours the globe for a solution to his unusual problem. He's stamped, posted and cancelled from Hollywood to France to Honolulu and beyond. And whether he's thwarting a robbery at the Louvre Museum in Paris, or 'hanging ten' off the coast of Hawaii, Stanley is closing in on his goal of being a three-dimensional boy once more.
