THEATER WORKSHOP         
9:00-10:30am Ages 12-18 / 10:30am-12:00Noon Ages 6-11
Tuesday/Thursday/Friday
This workshop will focus on improving a few specific aspects of theater.  Students will need to arrive at this workshop with a 1 minute memorized monologue and 16 bars of an audition song. Students will receive critiques and workshop training on improving their audition pieces. Characterization, vocal work and development and improvisation will also be a focus of this class.

DANCE WORKSHOP       
9:00-10:30am  Ages 12-18 / 10:30am-12Noon  Ages 6-11
Monday/Wednesday
This workshop is for young performers that are looking to improve their theater dance ability. This workshop will focus mainly on theater style dancing and technique. Ballroom basics for Cha Cha, American Swing, Foxtrot and Samba will be taught.  Conditioning, proper physical warm-up and stretching, movement and learning movement quickly and presentation will all be explored in this high energy, fast paced, fun workshop experience. Students should be able to move and dance, stay focused and be able to understand instructions, be willing to participate in group and individual dance/movement sequences. Students should be dressed to move.   

PAINTING WORKSHOP OR DRAWING WORKSHOP               
9:30-10:30am  Ages 6-11 / 10:30-11:30am  Ages 12-18
Tuesday/Wednesday/ Thursday
Student interested in exploring their visual art side will love these classes! Classes in painting or drawing will be offered - you choose which you'd like! Students will learn in a fast paced artistic environment where they will be encouraged to explore the use of several techniques in creating their own unique masterpiece.

POTTERY                              
10:30-11:30am Ages- 12-18 / 9:30-10:30am Ages 6-11
Monday/Friday
Additional $3.00 material fee per student
This class will refine students’ ability to work with clay and other ceramic mediums. Firing, glazing and other aspects of pottery will be taught to make this an intensive that your young artist will love.

FALL SEMESTER:  Week of September 8 - Week of December 8, 2014

BLOCK SCHEDULING IS BACK! There is a Monday morning schedule or a Tuesday afternoon schedule with classes for age groups 6-11 and 12-17.  The programs and times are designed so that you could do a three-hour block of classes on one day.  There will be a room designated for home school families during the three-hour block where you can "hang out" while your children are in class.  You can bring snacks, do school work, catch up with fellow homeschool moms or just relax.  WIFI is available. 

DISCOUNTS:  We offer a $5 monthly tuition discount if you register three or more siblings or have an individual child who is signed up for three or more classes.

DRAMA

TRIPLE THREAT
Monday Morning:  9:00-10:30am (ages 12-17) * 10:30am-12Noon (ages 5-11)
Tuesday Afternoon: 12:30-2:00pm (ages 5-11)

This class will help young actors learn the skills needed to become a “triple threat” -  someone that can sing, act and dance. Students learn fundamentals of acting, stage direction, auditioning, vocal health and performance. They will work monologues and scenes as well as participate in a group show and music revue. Also explored is stage make-up, costume design and construction, technical theater and other elements of live theatre to create a truly well rounded performer. Each class will work on a Broadway-style show and present it to parents and friends at the end of Winter Semester (April or May).  Each class will also participate in a music revue near the end of the Fall Semester (November) and perform in the SCERA Youth Theatre Christmas Revue (December).  Instructor: Shawn Mortensen *Students and teachers will work together to choose songs, music and performance material that is appropriate for each age group.

MUSIC


PRIVATE VOICE LESSONS

Students will have a 30-minute voice lesson (you wil choose a time during the 3-hour block above) that focuses on vocal health, proper singing style and performance skills.  *Teacher and student will work together to select music.

Students learn basic puppet-making techniques, practice puppetry performance skills and will make several different kinds of puppets to take home.  Instructor:  Nat Reed


ART


ART COMBO

Students will learn the basics of drawing, painting, and pottery.


DRAWING/PAINTING

Emphasizes use of value, form, line, and texture with focus on color theory, realism, and abstraction. 


CARTOON/ILLUSTRATION
Monday Morning:  11:00am-12Noon (ages 6-11) * 10:00-11:00am (ages 12-17)
Tuesday Afternoon:  2:00-3:00pm (ages 6-11) * 3:00-4:00pm (ages 12-17)

Learn fundamentals of character development and illustration techniques using colored pencil, pen, and ink.

Younger students learn basic pottery techniques and focus more on hand-building. Older classes will focus primarily on the wheel with some hand-building projects.
