AUDITIONS FOR HOLIDAY MUSICAL "THE FIRST CHRISTMAS" ON SEPT. 24-25

SCERA announces auditions for its holiday musical, Liken's "The First Christmas," which will be directed by Jan Shelton Hunsaker with music direction by Kathryn Laycock Little.  "The First Christmas" is based on the popular Liken film, and tells the true story of Christmas through the eyes of a modern day family who vividly reimagines the story of Christ's birth with heart and humor. Daniel Beck will star in the lead role of Gabriel, but all other roles are available.

"The First Christmas" will play at SCERA Center the Arts November 21 - December 13 @ 7:30pm on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday.  There is a slight schedule change the week of Thanksgiving, as there will be no show on Thanksgiving Day, November 27 but there will be a show on Tuesday, November 25.

Auditions will be Wednesday, Sept. 24 or Thursday, Sept. 25 from 7-10pm.  Auditioners should prepare to sing 16 measures of an upbeat Broadway styole or Christmas song.  A resume and headshot is helpful, but not required.  There are roles available for an older man and woman (60's-70's), 12 mid-range adult singing/speaking roles, two boys age 10-14 for speaking/singing roles, one girl age 10-14 for a speaking/singing role and a singing ensemble of a wide variety of ages from 13 to Adult.
