For dancers ages 15-50, SCERA is holding an open dance audition for any performers that would be interested in being a member of the SCERA Parade Crew for the 2014 summer parade season. Performers will dance on and around the SCERA float in several parades during summer 2014 to choreographed music representing the 30th Anniversary season at the SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre and other fun music.
Dancers will be required to walk for several miles, be able to endure performance in the heat, dance with various small props and be able to have fun and entertain an audience. Parade performances will be the Orem Summerfest Parade (June 14) and Provo Freedom Festival Parade ( July 4). Other parades may be added.
Dance auditions will be held Saturday April 19 from 10:00am-12:00noon in the dance studio at SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 South State, Orem. Rehearsals will be held Saturday mornings from 9:00am-12:00noon. Parade dance numbers are choreographed by Shawn M. Mortensen.
SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre announces auditions for its July 2014 show, the Utah Valley premiere of an epic musical drama that can’t be legally announced until May 1
The SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre will be presenting the Utah Valley premiere of an epic musical drama July 3-19, 2014 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm, but can’t legally announce the title until May 1, 2014. But director/music director Jeremy Showgren is holding auditions April 29 – May 1 for those interested in being considered for some of musical theatre’s greatest singing and acting roles.
There are roles for children ages 8-12 and adult 16 and older. Auditions for children ages 8-12 will be held on Tuesday, April 29 from 7-9pm. Auditions for adults 16 and older will be Wednesday, April 30 or Thursday, May 1 from 7-9pm. Auditions will be held at the SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 South State, Orem. Callbacks, for those invited, will be Saturday, May 3.
Auditioners should prepare to sing 16 bars of contemporary musical theatre. Please no songs from Annie. An accompanist is preferred and will be provided, but iPod hookup is available. No appointment is necessary to audition. A resume and headshot is helpful, but not required.

SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre announces May 7-8 auditions for “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers”
The SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre announces auditions for the final musical of its 2014 summer season, the classic musical “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers,” directed by Jerry Elison, with music direction by Martha Glissmeyer and choreography by Penny Colvin. The show will play August 1-16 on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays @ 8pm, and will tour to BYU Education Week for four performances August 19-22.
Auditions will be held Wednesday, May 7 or Thursday, May 8 from 7-9pm at the SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 South State, Orem. Callbacks, for those invited, will be held May 10, and will include a dance audition.

SCERA Youth Theatre's General Ruckus announces auditions for its 2014-215 musical theatre team for students in Grades 7-9
General Ruckus is an audition-only musical theatre performance group that is part of the SCERA Youth Theatre program. Directed by Amy Shreeve-Keeler, General Ruckus is holding auditions for their 2014-2015 team on Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 4:00-7:00pm at the SCERA Center for the Arts. Students who will be in Grades 7-9 should prepare 16 bars of two contrasting-style musical theatre songs. An accompanist will be provided, and tracks on CD or IPOD are also acceptable. Please no acappella.
General Ruckus meets from September 2014 - May 2015 on Thursdays from 4-6pm, with additional rehearsals prior to performances, which include a full musical production in Spring 2015 and participation in SYT's Christmas and Spring Music Revues. Participation in General Ruckus comes with the obligation to pay all tuition and fees, and with the expectation of the full year commitment.
Acting UP, SCERA Youth Theatre’s national award-winning advanced high school musical theatre team announces 2014-2015 auditions
Acting UP, SCERA Youth Theatre’s national award-winning advanced high school performance team announces that auditions for its 2014-2015 season will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 9:00am to 4:00pm in Room B1 at the SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 South State, Orem. The initial audition will be 9am-Noon and callbacks for those invited will be held after lunch from 1:00-3:00pm.
Students who will be in Grades 10-12 during the 2014-2015 school year and who are serious about musical theatre should prepare 16 bars of an upbeat Broadway song, 16 bars of a Broadway ballad, a 30-second to one minute monologue, and be prepared to dance a routine that will be taught at auditions. Auditioners should bring modest dance clothes or clothes to move in, as well as appropriate audition clothing for singing and monologue. CD or IPOD playback will be available.
Acting Up commitment includes Saturday morning rehearsals from 7:30-10:30am, various Sunday firesides, an outreach show performed throughout the state, a mainstage show performed at SCERA in Spring 2015, possible competition tour, and other rehearsals when needed.
