AUDITIONS FOR "MISS NELSON IS MISSING" ON SEPTEMBER 3-4 (Theatre for Young Audiences)

SCERA announces auditions for its Theatre for Young Audiences production of the 60-minute musical "Miss Nelson is Missing," based on the children's book by Harry Allard and James Marshall, and it will be directed by Julie Nevin.  "Miss Nelson Is Missing" will play October 20 through November 7, 2014 @ 10:00am Mondays-Fridays for school field trips with shows for the general public on Monday and Friday evenings at 7:00pm.  Cast members must be available for morning rehearsals and all morning and evening shows.  

Auditions will be held on Wednesday September 3rd from 7-9pm or Thursday, September 4th from 10am-12Noon. Auditioners ages 17 and older should prepare to sing 16 bars of a musical theatre piece and will also be asked to do a cold reading from the script.  There are parts for Miss Nelson, the school principal, the students and various ensemble roles.

SCERA YOUTH THEATRE'S GENERAL RUCKUS ANNOUNCES SEPT. 11 AUDITIONS FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES 7-9

General Ruckus is an audition-only group that is part of the SCERA Youth Theatre program, and is a musical theatre performance group for students in Grades 7-9. 

Classes are held September 2014 - May 2015 on Thursdays from 4-6pm at the SCERA Center for the Arts.  General Ruckus performs in the SCERA Youth Theatre Christmas and Spring Revues, and will also present their own full musical production in Spring 2015.  General Ruckus is directed by Amy Shreeve-Keeler.

Participation in General Ruckus comes with a financial obligation to pay tuition and fees, and with the expectation of the nine-month commitment. 

AUDITIONS:  If you missed auditions the first time, we are holding another audition on Thursday, Sept. 11 from 5-6pm.  Students should prepare two contrasting, sixteen bar cuts of musical theatre songs.  An accompanist will be provided, and tracks on CD or IPOD are also acceptable.  Please no acappella.

Tuition:  Fall Semester (3 months) is $55/month plus a $55 production fee and Winter Semester (4 months) is $55/month plus a $55 production fee.
