SCERA’s national award-winning high school company, Acting Up, announces auditions for 2013-2014

Now entering its 15^th year, SCERA’s national award-winning high school company, Acting UP, directed by Kathryn Laycock Little, will hold auditions for its 2013-2014 team on Saturday, June 1, 2013. Auditions will be from 9:00am-4:00pm and auditioners will need to stay the entire time. There will be a break for rest and lunch.

Students who will enter Grades 10-12 in the fall are welcome to audition, and should prepare 16 bars of an upbeat song, 16 bars of a ballad and a one minute monologue. An accompanist will be provided or students can bring an accompaniment track. Auditioners should also come dressed in comfortable and modest dance clothes and shoes, and will participate in dance and movement auditions.

There will be a mandatory pre-audition meeting for kids and their parents on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 10:45am in Room 201 at SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 South State, Orem. The meeting will discuss time, tour and tuition requirements, as well as answer questions. The Acting UP season is from mid-August 2013 through mid-May 2014. Participants must have a signed parental/guardian permission slip before auditioning. SCERA Youth Theatre's General Ruckus announces auditions for 2013-2014

General Ruckus is an auditioned musical theatre performance group for students in Grades 7-9m, directed by Amy Shreeve-Keeler. Classes are held weekly from September 2013 - May 2014, and will showcase several performances, including a full musical production from a Broadway Junior collection in the spring. Participation comes with a financial obligation to pay tuition and fees, and with the expectation of a full-year commitment. Tuition for Fall Semester 2013 is $158 plus a $55 production fee. Tuition for Winter Semester 2014 is $202 plus a $55 production fee.

Auditions for students entering grades 7-9 in the fall will be held Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 4-6pm at the SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 South State, Orem. Auditioners should prepare 16 bars of two contrasting-style musical theatre songs. An accompanist will be provided, and tracks on CD or IPod are also acceptable. Please no acappella.
