26th Annual PUPPETRY ARTS FESTIVAL

The Puppetry Arts Guild of Utah presents a day of workshops & performances for anyone wanting to learn more about puppetry!

WORKSHOP SCHEDULE
Registration at the door starts at 8 am—If you are preregistered, just pick up your packets. Registration for the whole day is $8/person or $25 for a Family of Five.  To register, call (801) 225-ARTS or stop by the main office at SCERA Center for the Arts, open 10am-6pm weekdays.

DEMONSTRATION CLASSES
9:00 – 9:25am   Joe Flores — How to Create Foam Puppet Head Shapes

9:30 – 9:55am   Lorie Hawley/Sharon Evans — Simple Puppets and Stuffed Animal Wannabees

10:00 – 10:25am   Dallen Blankenship — Sculpting Foam Puppets

10:30 – 10:55am   Carla Schulz —Manipulating Marionettes   *  Joe Flores — Making hand rods and how they work

PERFORMANCE:   11:00 – 11:50am   MARK PULHAM & THE DTNH TEAM — Tickets are $3/person (online, by phone or at the door)

12:00 – 12:50pm   Show and Tell — Guild Members will be available to answer questions about the puppets on display or upcoming classes

1:00 – 1:25pm   Linda Gold — Developing Character Voices for your puppets

1:30 – 1:55pm   Maxed Out Puppet Troupe — Puppet Manipulation — Wide Mouth Puppets

CHOOSE A MAKE-N-TAKE CLASS BELOW

2:00 – 4:00pm   Sharon Evans — Turn stuffed animals into Wide Mouth Puppets (Please bring your own stuffed animals) — Open to all ages

2:00 – 4:00pm   Carla Schulz — Make a Pop-Up Puppet (Bottle Buddies)

2:00 – 4:00pm   Joe Flores — Make a Foam Puppet (Kit Fee Required)

PERFORMANCE:   5:00pm   PUPPET FOLLIES — Variety show performed by guild members (FREE to current Guild Members and those who paid for the Puppetry Workshops. Additional tickets available at the box office for $2.00/Adult, $1.00/Child (age 3-11), $6.00/Family (online, by phone or at the door)
